Fourth of July

Daniel's parents, Matthew, and Sharon came to visit us for the 4th of July weekend, and we had a great time!

On the 3rd, we took a drive to Falmouth and saw some cool historical houses, walked around, enjoyed delicious ice cream, and sent Aubrey on her first carousel with Nana. Unfortunately, we only got pictures of that last activity. But they're cute!

On the 4th, we made the drive up to Boston for the iconic fireworks show. And courtesy of Nana, Aubrey was all decked out in cute patriotic splendor.

Of course, she couldn't help but get some dirt on her cute outfit (and hair).

We packed plenty of provisions for the several hours of waiting, of  which Aubrey took full advantage.

Yep, just like her Mommy (except that after she did this, she went for a walk with Daddy and proceeded to cough up a pile of half-eaten Cheetos onto the ground directly in front of some other family).

The concert was okay, but the fireworks were great (as usual)! Aubrey took forever to fall asleep, but with some magic from Nana's stroller pushing, she was finally able to conk out around 10:00. And amazingly, she slept through the entire (loud) fireworks show! I was a little disappointed to not see her reaction to the fireworks, but hey... who wants to wake a sleeping toddler?

After a quick walk back to our cars (Yay for parking at the church in Cambridge!) and a not-so-quick drive through horrendous traffic, we made it back home exhausted but grateful to live in this wonderful country of ours.

And while Aubrey is not yet able to understand patriotic sentiment, she does understand that having Nana and Papa come to visit is awesome!

(More 4th of July photos forthcoming!)
